Synopsis

A man and a woman travel through the world in a camper van: Niggi, a passionate photographer, and Annette, the love of his life, paralysed from the neck down for the last 20 years. With courage and with charm they wrest from life what it still holds worth living for. But what happens to love, when the circumstances of life change so drastically? Full of curiosity and wonder the filmmaker (and daughter) Fanny Bräuning goes in search of answers. The result is an enheartening film, a gripping homage to life and a must for all those who still want to believe in love.

Director Biography

Born in 1975 in Basel, Switzerland. Attended the ZHdK (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste), Film and Video Department in 1996-2001. Received her degree from ZHdK in 2001. And is an independent Director and Producer Since 2001. Currently living between Berlin and Basel.

Her first feature-length documentary NO MORE SMOKE SIGNALS (2008) premiered at the Locarno Film Festival - Semaine de la Critique and received the Swiss Film Award «Quartz» for Best Documentary in 2009, among many other awards. Her documentary  IMMER UND EWIG (int. title: The Journey) premiered at DOK Leipzig and won the swiss film award «Quartz» 2020 for Best Documentary as well as Best Filmmusic and a nomination for Best Camera. Member of the  Swiss and the European Film Academy.
